Ok, I'm ready to be moved now.

I forgot how tedious it was to find someone with a truck. And pack. And live life at the same time.
I wish "I have to move this week" was a valid excuse not to turn in your homework.

Also, money sucks and I have none of it.

But, what I do have, is a kick ass fucking apartment and finally a little peace of mind. I'm going to thrive so hard in this new world I'm building for myself. And if I don't I'm gonna eat cookies and kick some ass. Whatever works.

Hi livejournal people!

First off: If you are one of my pen pals, I am a terrible person, but I have NOT FORGOTTEN ABOUT YOU, I promise.

Life has been... interesting. A few months ago Zech and I split, which to be honest, was long overdue, but you know how it is. I am now living by myself (with a roommate whom I never really see) and going to summer classes and focusing all of my efforts on bringing in things that make me happy and throwing out things that don't. Quarter life crisis, I think I have almost beat you. Took long enough.

Anyway, I hope you all are doing fantastically and one of these days I will return to being a good active internet/pen pal to you all.

1. What did you do in 2012 that you'd never done before?
Became an A student in college, became financially stable, landed several paid photoshoots that were not with friends/family, flew in a plane alone, traveled alone, met my grandmother, saw Colorado Springs, saw Las Vegas, went to an overnight camp (as a volunteer, but I never went to one as a kid either), went wedding shopping with a friend, learned how to do yoga, joined a gym (although that become too expensive), started meditating, uh wow.. I think that's all.

2. Did you keep any New Year's resolutions and will you make more for next year?
I didn't make it, and I don't plan to. Although I do plan to attempt the jar idea going around the internet - put one good thing that happened to you each day written on a piece of paper into a jar and read them at the end of the year.

Kristin!

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no.

5. What countries did you visit?
None, as usual.

6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
You know, 2012 was pretty dang good... I'd like to have more adventure in my everyday life, in addition to the big adventures.

7. What date from 2012 will remain etched in your memory and why?
I don't have any exact dates, but my trip is a big one.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Going outside my comfort zone, in so many ways... all of which were worth it!

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing more than a bad cold.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Plane tickets. Aside from that, my first smart phone.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I don't know, I guess I could celebrate Rose because we became close friends this past year.

Thankfully, no one did anything awful.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills, food, adventures.

15. What did you get really, really excited about?
Starting school! And again, my trip.

Cleaning, creating.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Bickering, worrying.

No, but I am still in love.

22. Did your heart get broken in 2012?
Nope

23. What was your favorite TV programme?
Breaking Bad, Lie To Me, How I Met Your Mother, Psych

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I guess it's not as strong as hate, there is a guy a friend of mine is dating that could use a good slapping though.

25. What was the best book you read and/or movie you saw?
The Hunger Games books, didn't watch a lot of new movies.

26. What was your greatest discovery?
This vegan place called Cornbread Cafe. On a less tangible level, a sense of independence

Another chance at college.

28. What did you want and did not get?
A little bit more inner peace, but I am working my way there.

I can't believe it, but I really didn't watch any new movies....

Hilary, Michelle, Jessica, Rose

No one, I guess.

Michelley. Hilary for the last few months because I see her much less now that she lives on the coast.

I don't think I'll forget any of the people I was close to this year.

43. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012:
When you really want to do something, it becomes much easier.

44. What will you always remember about 2012?
It was the first year in a long time that I felt I was making progress towards my personal idea of success, which is largely based on being happy with who I am and pushing myself so that I continue to grow.

Camp Serene [Jul. 30th, 2012|11:09 pm]
Potatoez
hey ppl-

Does that not sound like the name of a camp in a Stephen King novel??

But I am getting ahead of myself...

This has been the most jam packed summer ever. I guess I still haven't updated you on my trip in detail. I spent four days with my 90 year old grandmother. She is still completely independent, lives alone, shops for herself, walks on trails, gardens. She is pretty amazing. And very very French. And very stubborn. Really, a lot like me in some ways. We got along great. I met Eddy the latest squirrel she has befriended. And Maia, her kitty. Then I spent four days with Michelley in Las Vegas. It was a little overwhelming, but awesome to see. The desert was beautiful. The strip was a little bit ridiculous. Freemont was quirky and fun. The suburbs were much like home. A very, very hot version of home. With no trees.

Today I got back from my latest adventure, camp! I went as a volunteer worker to the camp run by my friend Hilary's church. It was a little odd to go to a religious camp as an agnostic, but I participate in a lot of her church's activities so it was relatively what I expected. It was interesting to be around teenagers for four days straight. And exhausting. So, so exhausting. Haha, I can't believe how old it made me feel. Their drama seemed so ridiculous. And my back hurt from standing all the time. And my legs hurt from sitting on hard benches in the cold. And all I wanted was caffeine and sleep and hot showers. So sad in a way. I miss have never ending energy and am disappointed that one loses it so early in life. Then again, I am grateful to have what knowledge I've gained in my years since. And happy to be adventuring in a way they never could at their age.

I am now showered, fed and am working my way toward sleep. In a nice bed. Not a bunk in a cabin in the woods. The forest is absolutely gorgeous and I made a reminder to myself to spend more time there. But I <3 queen size beds with comfy blankets and warm sleeping buddies.

Well, bye for now-:-D

hey ppl-

Well, I am back from my Colorado-Nevada adventure. MAN, it's hot in Vegas. But MAN, it's humid here in Eugene. I thought the Las Vegas area was a lot prettier than I had expected it to be, but I do love my green trees and cool nights. <3 Meeting my grandma after all these years was fantastic, we are a lot alike. I will probably post more details later, but as of right now I've barely processed it myself.

well, bye for now-:-D

hey ppl-

I just got done with the most crazy college student week ever. AAAHH.

I hate hate hate presentations. But this term I've been granted an excellent partner and good communication. What? That's almost impossible right? I'm feeling better after having seen some others and having a plan. Whew.

I don't know what I'm going to do with myself this summer. It'll be great, but the schedule is so ingrained in me I might get a little crazy. I plan to read up a storm! And scavenger hunt better than all! And and... and my trip! And adventures! And. Stuff!

One more week of this craziness. But I love it. I really do.

well, bye for now-:-D

hey ppl-

Confession: I never had much of a self image issue, the only thing I dislike about my body is that my thighs are a little large. However, since starting yoga and working out... I've toned my thighs and lost a little fat all around... and it's totally raised my self confidence. I'm getting all into meditation and recommending yoga to everyone.

Also, I've recently found a more defined path to follow in my college/career life. It's a relief to work towards something, freedom is fun but if you take random classes forever and don't get a degree... then what??

well, bye for now-:-D
